Tottenham Hotspur pair Kyle Walker, Nabil Bentaleb 'weeks away' from returns

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino reveals that both right-back Kyle Walker and midfielder Nabil Bentaleb should be back in first-team contention within a "few weeks".

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Kyle Walker and Nabil Bentaleb will be back in first-team contention in a "few weeks".

England right-back Walker has been out for eight months with a pelvic problem, but returned to Spurs training during the international break.

Bentaleb has not played since picking up an injury on Algeria duty and, while they will not feature against Hull City this weekend, Pochettino is optimistic that he will have both players available sooner rather than later.

"We have another training session tomorrow to review and test some players and then we will decide the squad that travels to Hull," Pochettino told Tottenham's official website.

"Kyle is getting better and maybe if he follows in the same way it's possible he might start to play again in the next few weeks.

"Nabil is the same as Kyle, getting better, not fully recovered yet but now looking to be involved in training."

Walker, 24, has made 135 appearances for Tottenham since joining from Sheffield United as a teenager in 2008, while 19-year-old midfielder Bentaleb broke into the first team under Tim Sherwood last season.
