Tottenham injury, suspension list and return dates for Everton: Werner, Bissouma, Johnson

Werner, Bentancur latest: Spurs injury list for Everton clash

Peering over their shoulder after an 11th Premier League defeat of the campaign, Tottenham Hotspur have many wrongs to right away to Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Ange Postecoglou's men took a shock lead in Wednesday's North London derby against Arsenal, but their jubilation did not last long, as the Gunners fought back to prevail 2-1 at the Emirates.

The Lilywhites have now failed to win any of their last five matches in the top flight and remain in the bottom half of the Premier League standings as a result, only eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the showdown with Everton, who lost 1-0 to Aston Villa on David Moyes's homecoming in midweek.

Yves Bissouma

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: January 19 (vs. Everton)

Yves Bissouma was "a bit sore" after the North London derby, Postecoglou revealed on Friday, and the Mali midfielder will need a late fitness test before the trip to Goodison Park.

Brennan Johnson

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: January 19 (vs. Everton)

As well as Bissouma, Welsh attacker Brennan Johnson is nursing a fresh calf complaint, and it is not clear whether he will be able to pit his wits against Everton.

Timo Werner

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: February 16 (vs. Manchester United)

Timo Werner was Spurs' one fresh injury concern before the North London derby, having suffered a hamstring problem in the recent FA Cup win over Tamworth, and he will be out for the next three to four weeks.

Fraser Forster

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Illness Possible return date: January 19 (vs. Everton)

Ill goalkeeper Fraser Forster failed to make the matchday squad yet again on Wednesday and is a slight doubt for Sunday's trip to Merseyside too, but Antonin Kinsky has already established himself as Guglielmo Vicario's main backup.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Out Type of injury: Head Possible return date: January 26 (vs. Leicester City)

Rodrigo Bentancur needed treatment for 10 minutes on the field after suffering a head injury against Liverpool in the EFL Cup last week, but he escaped with just a concussion and will be back once he has finished his two-week protocol.

Destiny Udogie

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: February 16 (vs. Manchester United)

Destiny Udogie was the victim of a severe hamstring injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers in December, and the left-back is not scheduled to return until the middle of February.

Guglielmo Vicario

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: February 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Guglielmo Vicario is making steady progress in his return from an ankle fracture, Postecoglou has confirmed, and the Italian is expected to make his competitive comeback in late February.

Cristian Romero

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: January 26 (vs. Leicester City)

Cristian Romero hurt his thigh in the 4-3 loss to Chelsea in the middle of December, and Sunday's game will come too soon for the Argentine, but a return against Leicester City on January 26 has not yet been ruled out.

Micky van de Ven

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: January 26 (vs. Leicester)

Likewise, Micky van de Ven picked up a new hamstring problem against the Blues last month, but he is also on track to return towards the end of January.

Wilson Odobert

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Wilson Odobert has played just six matches this season due to two separate hamstring injuries, and he is still on the way back from the operation he underwent in November, with no timeframe being placed on his return.

Ben Davies

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: January 19 (vs. Everton)

Ben Davies is on track to return to action in Sunday's game, having made a full recovery from a hamstring problem and a subsequent setback that delayed his comeback by a couple of weeks.

TOTTENHAM'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham have no players suspended for this game.
