Tottenham injury, suspension list and return dates for Southampton: Bissouma, Romero, Van de Ven updates

Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Struggling for points and inspiration both domestically and continentally, Tottenham Hotspur have plenty of mistakes to rectify in Sunday's Premier League clash with Southampton at St Mary's.

Ange Postecoglou's men had to come from behind to salvage a 1-1 Europa League draw with Rangers on Thursday evening, as Dejan Kulusevski came off the bench to make himself Spurs' saviour.

However, the Lilywhites were the ones to let a lead slip last time out in the Premier League, falling to an astounding 4-3 loss to Chelsea to lie in the bottom half of the top-flight table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their showdown with the Saints, who are rooted to the bottom of the division.

Guglielmo Vicario

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: March 8 (vs. Bournemouth)

Guglielmo Vicario has undergone an operation on the ankle fracture he sustained in the 4-0 win over Manchester City, where he played with the severe injury for an hour, and it will be a few months before he is back in contention.

Cristian Romero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 19 (vs. Everton)

Cristian Romero made his return from a toe injury in the loss to Chelsea but then sustained a fresh thigh problem in the same match, and reports have claimed that the Argentine defender faces up to six weeks on the sidelines, meaning that he will miss next month's North London derby.

Richarlison

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 15 (vs. Arsenal)

Struggling striker Richarlison - whose future at Tottenham is the subject of much uncertainty - is also not expected back in action until the middle of next month owing to a hamstring injury.

Micky van de Ven

Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Postecoglou's decision to throw Micky van de Ven back into the first XI against Chelsea did not pay dividends, as the Dutchman sustained a new hamstring problem. The Spurs boss initially expressed hope that it was nothing serious, but there is no timeframe on his return.

Wilson Odobert

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Wilson Odobert was just hitting full fitness after one hamstring injury before picking up a new, more severe one, and the Frenchman is still on the mend from surgery and will be out for some time.

Mikey Moore

Status: Out
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: Unknown

Seventeen-year-old sensation Mikey Moore has been laid low by a serious illness for several weeks, and there is still no indication when the teenage attacker might come back.

Ben Davies

Yves Bissouma

Return date: December 19 (vs. Manchester United)

Yves Bissouma collected his fifth yellow of the season in the loss to Chelsea for a nonsensical foul on Moises Caicedo inside the area, meaning that the Mali international serves a one-match suspension on Sunday.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Return date: December 26 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Rodrigo Bentancur serves the fifth of a seven-game ban for his offensive remark about Son Heung-min and people from South Korea, but he will be eligible to return to action on Boxing Day.
