Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Spurs injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to take their positive Champions League form into the Premier League, where they have struggled of late.

The visit of impressive newly-promoted outfit Sheffield United could prove challenging for a Spurs side winless in their last four league outings, with the Blades unbeaten in that run.

However, they will hope that their 4-0 win against Red Star Belgrade last time out will act as a springboard for them to kick on and grab a vital win.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injuries and suspensions ahead of this fixture.

Hugo Lloris

Status: Out Type of injury: Elbow Possible return date: Unknown

The goalkeeper suffered a horror injury in Tottenham's 3-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion last month and will not return to training until next year at the earliest.

Erik Lamela

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: November 9 (vs. Sheffield United)

The Argentine has been on the cusp of a comeback following a thigh problem suffered in training, and he is being monitored closely ahead of each fixture. He has a chance of featuring if he passes a fitness test.

Jan Vertonghen

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: November 23 (vs. West Ham United)

The defender's hamstring injury appears to be worse than first feared and he has now been ruled out of contention, with the short trip to face West Ham towards the end of November earmarked for a potential return.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham have no players suspended for this match.
