Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino baffled by hectic fixture schedule

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino admits that he can only laugh at his side's fixture pile-up in the Premier League and Europa League.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he is baffled by his side's hectic fixture schedule in the Premier League and the Europa League.

Spurs defeated West Ham United two days ago and will now make the long trip to face Qarabag FK in Azerbaijan on a six-hour flight on Thursday before returning home to play Chelsea on Sunday at White Hart Lane.

"I laugh. I only smile," Pochettino told reporters. "Again, like it was the week when we played Monday, Thursday and Sunday, three times in six days. And now it's the same.

"Maybe it's worse because you need to fly nearly six hours and then there is the decision about whether to come straight back or stay, it's very difficult because both decisions are bad."

Tottenham are top of Group J in their Europa League campaign ahead of their clash.
