Team News: Paddy McCarthy returns for Sheffield United

Paddy McCarthy returns for Sheffield United against Oldham Athletic after serving a one-match ban.

Sheffield United welcome defender Paddy McCarthy from a one-match suspension as they face Oldham Athletic at Bramall Lane.

The Blades, who withdrew their invitation for Ched Evans to train with the club on Friday, have teenage striker Che Adams on the bench after he was ineligible for their FA Cup win over Crewe Alexandra.

However, James Wallace misses out for Nigel Clough's men after failing to overcome groin and hamstring injuries.

Latics captain Adam Lockwood must make do with a place on the bench after a knee problem and Carl Winchester, who returned from international duty last week, is also among the substitutes.

However, defender George Elokobi has been left out of the matchday squad by manager Lee Johnson due to a thigh problem.

Sheffield United: Howard, Alcock, Harris, Basham, Flynn, Doyle, Murphy, Scougall, Baxter, McEveley, McCarthy

Oldham Athletic: Rachubka, Kusunga, J.Wilson, Dieng, Mills, Kelly, Jones, Johnson, Philliskirk, Forte, Ibehre
