UEFA release statement following arrests at Euro 2012

European governing body UEFA have released a statement 'condemning' the trouble between Russia and Poland supporters prior to their Euro 2012 match on Tuesday.

100 arrests are understood to have been made after rival fans clashed with police before their Group A match.

The statement read: "Uefa condemns the isolated incidents that occurred prior to and after the Poland-Russia match, when some groups of known troublemakers pelted the police with missiles and attacked fans irrespective of the team they were supporting.

"Those arrested and charged will have to be dealt with by the relevant authorities."

The match finished 1-1.
