Roma plotting move for Barcelona's Sergino Dest?

Roma have reportedly emerged as candidates to sign Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest this summer.

The USA international only arrived at Camp Nou from Ajax in 2020 but is already being linked with a move elsewhere after failing to nail down a regular starting role.

With the Catalan giants thought to be interested in Ajax's current right-back Noussair Mazraoui, a deal to send Dest back to the Eredivisie powerhouses has been mooted.

Now, Fichajes claims that Roma have also joined the race for the 21-year-old's signature, with Jose Mourinho's side not prepared to make Ainsley Maitland-Niles's stay permanent.

The report adds that Dest does not have a future at Barcelona under Xavi, but Roma will face competition from several European clubs for the defender's signature.

Dest has registered three assists in 22 appearances for La Blaugrana this season and remains under contract at Camp Nou until the summer of 2025.
