Half-Time Report: Mattia Destro fires Roma ahead

A late goal from Mattia Destro gives AS Roma a half-time lead over Torino.

A late strike from Mattia Destro has given Roma a 1-0 lead over Torino at half time in their Serie A match this evening.

Destro had a chance to put the hosts ahead inside the opening five minutes, but his early shot from the edge of the box was comfortably saved by Daniele Padelli.

Roma continued to see the majority of the ball in the first 20 minutes, but Destro, Maicon and Daniele De Rossi all had efforts blocked.

Torino's first chance of the match came just over 10 minutes before the break when Ciro Immobile tried to tap in from an Alessio Cerci cross, but he sliced his finish wide.

Padelli had to remain sharp as half time approached as the home side continued to push for the opening goal, but the visiting keeper was able to deny Miralem Pjanic.

However, Destro was able to break the deadlock shortly before the half-time whistle, slotting the ball in from a Gervinho through-ball.
