Francesco Totti: 'Napoli win important'

Roma captain Francesco Totti is pleased that his side managed to win their home leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Napoli.

Roma captain Francesco Totti has admitted that it was important for his side to win the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against Napoli on Wednesday night.

Totti said that despite the 3-2 win there was still a lot of work to do in the return leg. However, he said that the winner from Gervinho late on could prove crucial in the tie.

"We know the values of Napoli very well, they are one of the best equipped teams in Serie A, their physical strength and quality that they know how to bring into the field has made this game very hard," Totti told his official website.

"Qualification is still to be played for, but it is clear how important it was to score the third goal, in view of the decisive return leg."

Totti has played for Roma's first team since 1992.
