Parma suffer point deduction

Parma have been deducted a point by the Italian Football Federation over financial irregularities.

The Serie A strugglers have also been fined €5,000 (£3,950), while president Tommaso Ghirardi and the club administrator Pietro Leonardi have each been given a two-month ban.

The club has been punished after failing to pay income tax on time last season.

Parma have had a difficult start to the current campaign, with 12 defeats leaving them eight points from safety at the bottom of the table.
