Nottingham Forest have reportedly reached an agreement over a deal for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The Italian giants are willing to offload Luiz just a year after signing him on a five-year deal from Premier League side Aston Villa.
Brazilian Luiz failed to establish himself in the Juventus side last term, making just six starts in 27 appearances in all competitions.
Luiz now looks set to seal a return to the Premier League, with The Athletic reporting that he will join Forest on an initial loan deal.
The agreement includes two ways in which Forest can make the move permanent, including an obligation to buy if Luiz plays a certain number of games.
Even if he does not meet that threshold, the Tricky Trees will still have the option to sign him on a permanent transfer for €30m (£26m).
The former Manchester City man will strengthen Nuno Espirito Santo's midfield options, which include Ibrahim Sangare, Elliot Anderson, Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez.
Wrexham set to sign Man City defender
Meanwhile, in the Championship, Wrexham are reportedly set to sign Manchester City defender Callum Doyle.
The Red Dragons have been busy in their transfer window, recruiting notable names like Conor Coady, Lewis O’Brien, Kieffer Moore and Danny Ward.
They recently broke their transfer record to sign forward Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town in a deal worth up to £10m.
Wrexham are now on the verge of making another high-profile addition, with BBC Sport reporting that Man City’s Doyle is set to become the newest member of Phil Parkinson’s squad.
The Championship side have reached an agreement with Man City over a fee that could rise to £8m.
Doyle is a product of the Man City youth system, although he is set to leave the club without making a single first-team appearance.
The 21-year-old has spent the past four seasons on loan with Sunderland, Coventry City, Leicester City and Norwich City.
Fulham considering Godo offer
Staying in the second tier, Coventry have reportedly submitted a bid for Fulham winger Martial Godo.
The 22-year-old was restricted to just five competitive appearances last season, and he was not in the squad for Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to Sky Sports News, Coventry are willing to offer Godo a way out of Craven Cottage before the end of the transfer window.
The update claims that Fulham are currently considering whether to accept a bid from the Sky Blues, although there are no details provided about the offer on the table.
Godo is under contract until the summer of 2028, but he is keen to explore his options in his quest to play regular football.
The Ivory Coast youth international would strengthen Frank Lampard’s wide options, which currently include Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Ephron Mason-Clark and Raphael Borges Rodrigues.
