Joey Barton: 'No agreement reached with any team'

Midfielder Joey Barton has announced that he has not agreed terms with any club after he was strongly linked with a move to Nottingham Forest.

Reports on Wednesday suggested that Barton was close to signing a deal with the East Midlands outfit, but the former Queens Park Rangers player has taken to Twitter to reveal his current status as he continues to search for a new club.

Not reached any agreement with anyone. Spoke to several. Long way to go yet. Needs to be the right project. No more time can be wasted. #32

Earlier this summer, the 32-year-old had been in talks with West Ham United before the move was scrapped.
