Ganso rejects Santos offer

Santos midfielder Ganso rejects the club's latest contract offer, claiming that he thought that they would offer him a better deal.

Highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Ganso has rejected a new contract offer from Santos.

Ganso is still under contract at the club until February 2015, but Santos had been keen to tie the promising midfielder down to an even longer deal.

The 22-year-old has drawn the interest of many of Europe's top clubs, including the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United, and this latest development is likely to increase interest in the player.

"I didn't like the offer, I thought they would offer something better," said Ganso.

"Regardless of that, you have to keep your cool to play football and let things happen naturally.

"I don't know what can happen, only God knows it. I hope I can remain calm to keep playing football."

Ganso has been at Santos for his entire professional career, signing in 2008. He has also made eight appearances for the Brazilian national side.
