FIFA appoint female to executive committee

FIFA have appointed the first female member to the world football governing body's executive committee.

Lydia Nsekera has been the president of the Burundi Football Association since 2004, and is also a member of the International Olympic Committee.

The 45-year-old is also a member on FIFA's committees for women's football and the women's World Cup.

Nsekera will be officially installed at the FIFA Congress in Budapest on Friday.
