Scottish Premiership roundup: Important wins for Aberdeen, Inverness CT

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Premiership action as Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle improve their league positions with important wins.

Aberdeen claimed the result of the day in the Scottish Premiership by thumping Hamilton Academical 3-0 to leapfrog them into fourth in the table.

Ash Taylor, Niall McGinn and Adam Rooney were on target against the Accies, who finished the match with 10 men as Jon Routledge was shown a late red card.

There was also an important win for Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Dundee, with Ryan Christie's late winner moving them back up to second place.

An early goal from Michael O'Halloran gave St Johnstone a 1-0 win at struggling St Mirren, while Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock played out a 1-1 stalemate.

In Saturday's early kickoff, Celtic defeated Motherwell 1-0 via an Anthony Stokes strike to extend their lead at the top of the division to three points.
