Well have set their sights on a top-six finish.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson sounded a note of caution after a fifth consecutive Ladbrokes Premiership win took them up to seventh.

A home defeat by St Mirren on December 22 dragged Motherwell back into the relegation fight as the Buddies cut the gap to six points.

But Motherwell moved 21 points clear of the bottom club with a 2-1 win in Paisley on Wednesday which lifted them four off the top six.

Motherwell fans feared their season was over after a William Hill Scottish Cup defeat by Ross County last month but they are now eyeing a top-six push.

However, Robinson said: "I'm not getting too carried away. Three weeks ago it was a disaster when we lost against Ross County. I was the worst manager in the world and the team was the worst team in the world.

"We weren't. I certainly wasn't the worst manager in the world and I'm certainly not the best manager in the world, and we are not the best team in the world.

"We are progressing, we are doing well, we have young boys playing very well and people at the top of their form, which they weren't in the early parts of the season."
