Man United transfer news: 'Unsettled' Red Devils ace on verge of Old Trafford exit with deal agreed

'Unsettled' Man United ace on verge of Old Trafford exit with deal agreed

Eyupspor have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester United for the loan signing of Tyrell Malacia.

The Netherlands international spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at PSV Eindhoven, but the Dutch outfit turned down the chance to sign him on a permanent basis.

Malacia was not involved in Man United's preparations for the 2025-26 season, nor has he been training with the first team, with the Red Devils looking to secure an exit for the unwanted defender.

A proposed move to Elche broke down, but Malacia still has chances to leave Old Trafford, with the Turkish and Saudi Arabian transfer window both notably still open.

Speculation linking Malacia with a switch to Turkey has gathered pace of late, and it is understood that an agreement to make the move to the Super Lig has now been reached.

According to YS TV journalist Resat Can Ozbudak, Man United and Eyupspor have an agreement in place which would see Malacia spend the 2025-26 campaign on loan at the club, although the left-back still needs to give the green light.

Man United 'reach agreement' with Eyupspor over Malacia loan

Eyupspor finished sixth in the Super Lig last season after being promoted from the second tier in 2023-24, and they were only one point off European qualification in 2024-25.

The Istanbul outfit have picked up four points from their four matches in Turkey's top flight during the current season, which has left them 10th in the table ahead of their clash with Galatasaray this weekend.

Malacia made 39 appearances for Man United during the 2022-23 campaign, impressing in his first season at Old Trafford following a switch from Feyenoord.

However, the defender missed the entire 2023-24 campaign due to a serious knee injury, which required two separate operations, and he then only made eight appearances in the first half of last term before leaving on loan.

Malacia did feature 12 times for PSV in the second half of last term, but he was unable to convince the Eredivisie team to sign him on a permanent basis, leading to his return to Man United.

Onana 'heading' for Turkey to complete Trabzonspor switch

Malacia, should a move to Eyupspor go through, will be joined in Turkey by Man United teammate Andre Onana, with the Cameroonian on the verge of completing a loan switch to Trabzonspor.

Onana is due to travel to Turkey on Thursday for a medical, having represented Cameroon during the international break, and he is expected to sign a contract with the Super Lig outfit for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
