Tottenham Hotspur set Luka Modric price at £40m?

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly placed a £40m price tag on the head of their Croatian midfielder Luka Modric.

The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, while Manchester United are also thought to be interested.

However, according to Press Association Sport, Spurs will not entertain offers of less than £40m for the talented playmaker.

Modric scored five goals in 40 games for Tottenham last season.
