Man United transfer news: Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr in talks over '£40m deal' for 'unwanted' Red Devils attacker

Ronaldo's Al-Nassr in talks over '£40m swoop' for 'unwanted' Man United attacker

Manchester United attacker Antony has reportedly 'given the green light' to make the move to Al-Nassr, with the Saudi Pro League outfit 'serious' about signing the Brazilian this summer.

Antony, 25, excelled on loan at Real Betis in the second half of last season, scoring nine goals and registering five assists in 26 appearances for the Seville outfit in all competitions.

The Brazilian is not in Ruben Amorim's plans for the new campaign, but a permanent move to Real Betis is seen as unlikely at this stage due to the transfer fee that Man United require.

The 20-time English champions need to sell the forward for £32.5m to avoid suffering a loss when it comes to PSR, and there has recently been speculation linking him with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Nassr 'pushing to sign' Man United's Antony

Antony's agent Junior Pedroso has confirmed that his client is open to moving to the Saudi Pro League.

"What I can say is that the player is on the market, and there are several clubs that want to know his current status," Pedroso told WinWin. "We listen to the projects and analyse them. But he is open to moving to Saudi Arabia. Anything is possible, we are looking for what is best for him."

According to TEAMtalk, Al-Nassr are currently in discussions with Man United over a move for Antony, with a first proposal said to have been submitted by the Saudi Pro League outfit.

The report claims that Man United want €50m (£44m) for Antony, who has made it clear that he would be interested in lining up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

Playing regularly is believed to be key for Antony when it comes to his next club, as the attacker has ambitions of representing Brazil at the 2026 World Cup.

Al-Nassr interest is excellent news for Man United

If Man United can sell Antony for over £40m this summer, that would represent excellent business considering how badly he has struggled since making the move to Old Trafford from Ajax.

Antony has only managed 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, but he was excellent in the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis.

Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen have also been credited with an interest in the Brazilian, but he could be on the verge of making a lucrative switch to Ronaldo's Al-Nassr team.
