Manchester United have made a new right-back one of their priorities for the January transfer window, according to a report.
The Red Devils spent big in the summer, bringing in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo, and were said to also be interested in signing a full-back and defensive midfielder.
Kieran Trippier was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but Man United refused to pay his £30m Atletico Madrid release clause.
According to 90min, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now turned his attention to two younger alternatives at right-back, with Nathan Patterson of Rangers and Norwich City's Max Aarons on the Norwegian's shortlist.
The report suggests that Solskjaer wants more competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the squad, with Diogo Dalot potentially set to leave on loan.
Ethan Laird is currently on loan at Swansea City, but he is not seen as ready to challenge Wan-Bissaka for a starting spot just yet.
Patterson, who won the Scottish Premiership last season, is also reportedly being monitored by Everton, while the Red Devils will face competition from Manchester City for Aarons.
