Man United to pay £70m for Jordan Pickford?

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to spend £70m on Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford if they lose David de Gea at the end of the season.

The Red Devils are bracing themselves for De Gea's exit next summer, as the Spanish goalkeeper has held off from signing a new deal.

United have the option to extend the Paris Saint-Germain target's contract by a further year, but they may instead cash in rather than lose him for nothing in 2020.

Preparations are already in place for De Gea's exit, with Pickford supposedly top of United's wishlist.

According to The Mirror, Jose Mourinho's side are ready to make the England number one the world's most expensive goalkeeper, eclipsing the sums paid by Chelsea and Liverpool to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga and Alisson Becker respectively.

Pickford joined Everton from Sunderland in a £30m deal last year and signed a new long-term contract in September.
