Liverpool reportedly hold positive talks over a potential deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

Liverpool have reportedly held positive talks over a potential deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

The Reds have made the midfield a priority area for their transfer business after losing Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over the summer months.

Liverpool added Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, before turning their attention to Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

They were ultimately left disappointed after the pair opted to join Premier League rivals Chelsea, leaving the Merseyside club to consider alternatives.

Jurgen Klopp's side finally made progress in their search for reinforcements, signing Japan captain Wataru Endo from Stuttgart in a £16.2m transfer.

Despite unveiling Endo as their third summer addition, the Reds are still keen to bolster their options in the middle of the park.

They have identified Gravenberch as a target, and their hopes of landing the Netherlands international have been boosted by reports that negotiations are progressing well.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool have held productive discussions with Bayern over a possible deal for the 21-year-old.

Gravenberch, who joined Bayern from Ajax last summer, is open to leaving the German champions after struggling to establish himself in the side.

The Dutchman started just three Bundesliga games last season, and the summer arrival of Konrad Laimer has seemingly knocked him further down the pecking order.

Gravenberch was an unused substitute for both the German Super Cup defeat to RB Leipzig and Friday's 4-0 league win over Werder Bremen.

There has also been interest from Liverpool's Premier League rivals Manchester United, who are believed to be the midfielder's preferred destination.

In addition to discussing a move for Gravenberch, the Reds have supposedly held talks with Crystal Palace about Mali international Cheick Doucoure.

After joining the Eagles from Lens last summer, the 23-year-old impressed during his first season at Selhurst Park, featuring in 34 Premier League matches.
