Javi Martinez: 'I'm not worth €40m'

Manchester United target Javi Martinez has claimed that he is not worth the reported €40m (£33m) it would take to sign him from Athletic Bilbao.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a number of European football's top clubs.

"I do not think there's anyone who wants to pay so much for me," he told Mundo Deportivo. "I see it as too much money for me. I don't think I'm worth €40m."

Martinez is likely to face United when the two sides meet in the last 16 of the Europa League this month.
