Rio Ferdinand blasts media for "twisting" Manchester United contract claims

Ferdinand refutes exit rumours

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has rejected speculation that he is hesitant over signing a new contract at Old Trafford.

The 34-year-old recently claimed that he has yet to decide on when to pen a new deal with the Red Devils but has suggested that it does not mean that he is ready to leave the club.

Ferdinand tweeted: "Papers twisting words again."

The centre-back, who has been playing for the former Premier League champions since 2002, will come to the end of his current contract in the summer.
