Darmian: 'I want to stay at Man United'

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has revealed that he wants to remain at Old Trafford, despite the suggestion that he could be allowed to leave the Premier League giants.

Darmian has been restricted to just nine appearances this season and it had been reported that Juventus were considering a move for the Italian international during the January transfer window.

However, Darmian has been a regular starter in the league in recent weeks, and he has insisted that he has no plans to leave a club which he describes as "one of the biggest in the world".

The 27-year-old is quoted by ESPN as saying: "I play for one of the biggest clubs in the world so I'm happy. I listen and read about the transfer but I don't know anything. At the moment, nothing is true. I will continue to do my job and want to stay here.

"I'm a natural right-back but playing on the left is not a big problem. I've been at left-back the last few matches and I feel comfortable in that position."

United paid Torino a fee of £12.7m to sign Darmian in July 2015.
