Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly set to sign a new five-year contract that would see his weekly wages increase tenfold from £5,000 to £50,000.

Manchester United protege Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly set to put pen to paper on a lucrative new contract with the Red Devils that would see his wages increase tenfold.

The 18-year-old has evolved into a first-team regular for Erik ten Hag's side in recent weeks and has come up with a few crucial goal contributions.

Garnacho scored his first senior goal for the club in a 1-0 Europa League win over Real Sociedad, although that triumph was not enough to see Man United top their group.

The Argentina Under-20 international then set up two goals in a 4-2 EFL Cup third-round win over Aston Villa before scoring a late winner against Fulham in the Red Devils' final pre-World Cup Premier League game.

Despite initial reports claiming that Garnacho's contract would expire at the end of the season, the teenager's current terms are understood to be valid until the summer of 2025.

While they are therefore protected by Garnacho's contract situation, Man United supposedly want to reward the teenager's breakthrough with a bumper new deal.

According to the Daily Star, the South American will receive a mammoth increase in wages to £50,000 from the £5,000-a-week salary that he currently pockets.

The report adds that negotiations are progressing nicely with Garnacho's camp, and confirmation of the attacker's new deal could arrive before the end of the year.

The length of the new contract is understood to be five years, and Garnacho is set to commit his future to the Red Devils amid interest from numerous European teams.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Chelsea are all reported to have been monitoring Garnacho's progress since the teenager broke into the first team on a regular basis.

Garnacho left Atletico Madrid's youth academy in 2020 to sign for Man United in a £450,000 deal, and he has since made 10 senior appearances for the club, scoring twice and setting up two more.

Despite his recent emergence and tally of four goals in five games for Argentina's Under-20s, Garnacho was unable to force his way into Lionel Scaloni's 2022 World Cup squad

Both Ten Hag and Bruno Fernandes have admitted that there were some issues with Garnacho's attitude to training at the start of the season, which the 18-year-old has since addressed.

Garnacho will expect to earn more senior game time when Man United take on Cadiz and Real Betis in a pair of winter friendlies during the World Cup, meeting the former on December 7 before a clash with Betis on December 10.

The Red Devils will then return to competitive action against Burnley in the EFL Cup fourth round on December 21 before meeting Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on December 27.
