Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Bryan Mbeumo will not make his Manchester United debut against Bournemouth in the Premier League Summer Series on Wednesday night.
Mbeumo is part of the squad in the United States, but played no part in the 2-1 win over West Ham United at the weekend.
In his post-match press conference, Amorim also revealed that the Cameroonian will not be involved here, but he will get some minutes in their final game Stateside against Everton on Sunday.
That means Man United’s attack could look unchanged, with talisman Bruno Fernandes set to start again after getting both goals in the win over the Hammers last time out.
Matheus Cunha has started both friendlies since joining from Wolves, and Rasmus Hojlund is more than likely going to get the nod with Joshua Zirkzee’s fitness still up in the air.
Amorim did rotate heavily during the second half though, using 21 players in total during the win on Saturday, with Altay Bayindir being the only member of the squad to play 90 minutes.
Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui are still nursing injuries, but there could be starts for Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire here, after all three were only substitutes against West Ham.
After only recently returning from injury in preseason, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro’s minutes will likely be managed to ensure no recurrences are suffered ahead of the start of the new season.
Manchester United possible starting lineup:
Bayindir; Yoro, Maguire, Heaven; Dalot, Casemiro, Mount, Shaw; Fernandes, Hojlund, Cunha
