Wayne Rooney in Twitter spat with Frankie Cocozza

Wayne Rooney has slated former X Factor contender Frankie Cocozza on social media site Twitter.

The Manchester United forward accused the teenager of not being able to sing.

"@FrankieCocozza sorry who are u again. Oh yeah i remember ur the kid who was on x factor who couldnt sing," read the English international's tweet.

Cocozza responded sarcastically but did ask Rooney to deliver at next summer's Euro 2012 finals.

"@WayneRooney thankyou for making my day, knew I'd hit a nerve. I don't like you atall.. But bring home the goods this summer please."

Brighton's Cocozza was only the second person to ever leave the show after breaking competition rules.
