Neville calls for "sensible ticket prices"

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has called for "sensible ticket pricing" to be introduced following the Premier League's latest deal with Sky Sports and BT Sport.

The total cost of the deal, which comprises 168 matches per season, has risen from £3bn to £5.136bn, an increase of 70% on the previous three-year contract.

Ex-England right-back Neville wants to see the figures help towards reducing the costs of matchday tickets across the top flight.

He tweeted: "I want sensible ticket pricing and grass roots football to benefit as much as possible from this deal. Who doesn't! This is a big issue!"

Sky Sports, for whom Neville works as an analyst, will show 126 live Premier League games per season from 2016 to 2019.
