Juan Mata: Manchester United debut was "very special"

Juan Mata hailed a "very special" Manchester United debut after they beat Cardiff City 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

The Spaniard was making his first appearance since his club record move from Chelsea.

"I enjoyed it," Mata is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "It was a very, very special day for me.

"My first game, my debut, two goals and a victory, so it was perfect.

"We are talking about two of the best strikers in the world (Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie) and it's going to be amazing to play alongside them."

United are currently seventh in the Premier League.
