Zlatan Ibrahimovic: "Jose Mourinho is the mastermind"

Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic credits Jose Mourinho for convincing the Swede to move to the Premier League this summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that Jose Mourinho's presence at Manchester United was a key part of the striker's decision to move to the Premier League in the summer.

Ibrahimovic, who also worked with Mourinho at Inter Milan, joined Man United on a free transfer in July and has scored three times in three league games for the Red Devils at the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

The 34-year-old claims that he has previously turned down moves to England, but could not reject the opportunity to link up with "masterbrain" Mourinho once again.

"I was close to moving to the Premier League twice - once with Arsenal and then Manchester City," he told reporters. "But it never happened and I don't need to play in the Premier League. Mourinho is the mastermind, the masterbrain. He knows what he needs to do to win. I learned a lot from him at Inter. Who wouldn't want to have Mourinho as manager?"

Ibrahimovic will have his first taste of a Manchester derby when Man United welcome bitter rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford in the Premier League on September 10.
