Liverpool reportedly do not think that Naby Keita has suffered any serious damage after he was taken off on a stretcher in Sunday's win over Manchester United.

Liverpool are reportedly confident that Naby Keita will not be out for a significant amount of time after his injury in Sunday's win over Manchester United.

The Guinea international broke the deadlock at Old Trafford within five minutes of that 5-0 drubbing but was the victim of a nasty challenge from Paul Pogba an hour into the contest.

Pogba was sent for an early bath as Keita left the field on a stretcher to be replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and fears of a long-term injury for the midfielder were immediately raised.

However, The Athletic claims that Keita played an active role in the dressing room celebrations after getting to his feet, and the former RB Leipzig man has avoided another serious problem.

The report adds that Keita is expected to escape with only bruising after managing to leave Old Trafford without needing crutches, allaying fears of another stint in the medical room following last season's ankle issue.

Keita's strike at Old Trafford was his fourth goal of the season in all competitions and his 10th in total for Liverpool since his arrival in 2018.
