Scott McTominay will make his first Champions League start as Manchester United prepare to host Benfica on Tuesday night.

Jose Mourinho has made six changes to his Manchester United side ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League clash with Benfica.

Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford began their side's 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

However, they have been replaced in the starting lineup by Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind, Scott McTominay, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

McTominay's inclusion means that he makes only his second United start, and his first in the Champions League, while Luke Shaw makes the bench for Mourinho's side.

Mile Svilar, the youngest player in this season's competition, continues in goal for Benfica, while veteran defender Luisao misses out through suspension.

Manchester United: De Gea, Darmian, Bailly, Smalling, Blind, Matic, McTominay, Mata, Lingard, Martial, Lukaku
Subs: Romero, Lindelof, Shaw, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Young, Rashford

Benfica: Svilar, Douglas, Dias, Jardel, Grimaldo, Fejsa, Augusto, Pizzi, Salvio, Goncalves, Raul
Subs: Cesar, Lisandro, Eliseu, Samaris, Cervi, Jonas, Seferovic
