Report: Sergio Aguero agrees new deal with Manchester City

Manchester City are reportedly close to announcing that striker Sergio Aguero has penned a new deal at the Etihad Stadium to keep him in place until 2020.

Sergio Aguero has agreed to commit his long-term future to Manchester City by signing a new four-year deal, according to a report.

The Argentina international has hit the ground running under Pep Guardiola by scoring nine goals in his first five games, including two hat-tricks with just a month of the season played.

Aguero, who is currently serving a three-match domestic ban for elbowing West Ham United's Winston Reid, scored the latest of those trebles in the 4-0 thrashing of Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday evening to extend the Citizens' perfect start to the campaign.

Guardiola has now been boosted by some further positive news, as The Telegraph claims that the 28-year-old forward will officially put pen to paper this week to ensure that he remains at the Etihad Stadium until at least 2020.

A five-year deal was signed by Aguero in 2014, but it is suggested that City chiefs were keen to tie him down for a further 12 months to further prove his commitment and fend off any interest from elsewhere.

Since joining City from Atletico Madrid for £38m a little over five years ago, Aguero has found the net 118 times in 150 league and cup appearances.
