Manchester City 'want to sign Thiago Alcantara'

Manchester City could move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara this summer, according to a report.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen to bring Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara to the Etihad Stadium in this summer's transfer window.

Guardiola signed Thiago for Bayern in 2013 and the Spaniard has since made 181 appearances for the German giants in all competitions, scoring 28 times in the process.

Thiago will see his current deal at the Allianz Arena expire in just over two years, though, and according to The Mirror, City are considering a swoop for the midfielder at the end of the season.

The same report has claimed that City would have to spend more than £60m to land the 27-year-old, however, due to his importance to Bayern.

Thiago, who is a 31-time Spain international, made over 100 appearances for Barcelona before making the move to Munich.
