Manchester City confirm the signing of Owen Hargreaves

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has completed a free transfer to Manchester City.

News broke yesterday that the 30-year-old had undergone a medical at the Etihad Stadium and the two parties have now agreed terms on a one-year deal.

The England international started just 26 matches during a four-year spell at Old Trafford that was blighted by injuries.

Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson decided to release the player at the end of last season and he had previously been linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion.
