Manchester City, Barcelona chasing Villarreal prospect?

Manchester City and Barcelona have reportedly identified Villarreal midfielder Ivan Morante as a potential signing.

With neither club having always performed to their best this season, new arrivals are expected at the Etihad Stadium and Camp Nou during 2020.

According to The Telegraph, there is interest in Morante, who has played a number of games for Villarreal's 'B' side.

As just six months remaining on his contract, the 19-year-old is expected to depart the La Liga side in the near future.

The report suggests that Spain Under-19 international Morante is valued in the region of £6m.

While Villarreal will be eager to secure a fee for the prospect this month, City may be open to a pre-contract agreement.
