Roberto Mancini admits that not winning the Premier League title this season could put his job at Manchester City in jeopardy.

Roberto Mancini has acknowledged that he faces the sack should he fail to deliver the Premier League title to Manchester City this season.

The Citizens currently sit second in the table, five points behind neighbours Manchester United.

However, as he has experienced previously, Mancini realises that a highest-ever Premier League finish and record points tally might not be enough to save his job.

"I left Inter after winning seven trophies and I still had a four-year contract. So in football anything can happen in any moment. Like the title race, things can change in one week," said Mancini.

"It's the same regarding my future. When you choose this job you know anything can happen.

"I think we're progressing, but I don't decide this. I do the best in my job and after I don't decide the situation."

City could be eight points adrift of United by the time they clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
