City rename training pitch after Toure

Manchester City have renamed a training pitch after departing midfielder Yaya Toure.

The 34-year-old will leave the Citizens after eight years at the club, having netted 59 times for his side.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has unveiled a mosaic next to the academy pitch which is now dedicated to the Ivorian midfielder.

When asked if he intends to stay in the Premier League, Toure told reporters: "Yes, because of my family. My kids, for me, are British. They go to school here, they have a lot of friends in Manchester. Manchester is their town.

"I would never celebrate a goal against City. I don't want to face them, but if I want to stay in the Premier League, I'll have to."

Toure will captain his side as they host Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.
