Manchester City's Sergio Aguero among Player of the Month contenders

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has been nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month award for September.

Aguero faces a spell on the sidelines with a fractured rib, but before his injury the Argentine netted five goals in three games, including a hat-trick against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Teammate Kevin De Bruyne is also among the contenders after an impressive few weeks, which was capped off with the winning goal in a 1-0 triumph away at former club Chelsea.

Blues forward Alvaro Morata and Manchester United Romelu Lukaku also feature after scoring four goals during the second month of the campaign, but Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is one of the favourites for the accolade after registering six successful strikes.

Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles and Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross have also been recognised by the Premier League panel.
