Guardiola reveals De Bruyne, Dias, Grealish injury doubts ahead of FA Cup final

Guardiola reveals De Bruyne, Dias, Grealish injury doubts

Manchester City Pep Guardiola has admitted that he has concerns over the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias and Jack Grealish ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final against Manchester United.

After their Premier League campaign ended with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Brentford, the Citizens are preparing for two crucial fixtures.

The Premier League champions are just two games from completing a historic treble, beginning with Saturday's FA Cup final.

Man City will take on their neighbours Man United at Wembley before they face Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Istanbul.

The Citizens do have concerns over three key members of their squad ahead of the final game of the English domestic season.

Dias, who has featured regularly in the Man City defence this term, has missed the club's last two matches with an injury problem.

Grealish has also been absent from the games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, while De Bruyne did not feature against the Bees after he felt a recurrence of an issue in midweek.

Speaking after the 1-0 defeat against Brentford, Guardiola said that he was hopeful the trio would be fit for Wembley, but he was unable to offer any guarantees.

Guardiola told reporters: "We have four or five players with niggles, not big injuries, but they are injuries.

"The guys who didn't play didn't here were really, really exhausted the day before and mentally, they were completely drained.

"The guys who are in Manchester - Ruben didn't train for 10 days, Jack Grealish, as well. After the game against Brighton, Kevin felt the same feelings that he had before, weeks ago when he could not play a few games.

"It is what it is. It's not a big issue, I think they will be ready. They have to be ready for the training sessions and I am going to see them in three days and that's why today was so important to see these players and how they are."

Guardiola revealed that he has given his players two days off before they return to training ahead of the FA Cup final.
