Malaga ease past Valencia

Malaga move up to fourth place in La Liga with a 4-0 win over Valencia at the Estadio La Rosaleda.

Malaga have moved up to fourth place in the La Liga table thanks to a comfortable 4-0 win over Valencia at the Estadio La Rosaleda.

The home side took the lead with just eight minutes on the clock when Francisco Portillo curled the ball past Diego Alves.

It took Malaga until the 75th minute to extend their advantage as Javier Saviola lashed in a low drive from the edge of the area.

Roque Santa Cruz's calm finish made it 3-0 with nine minutes left to play before Isco drilled the ball home from outside of the box in injury time to seal the victory.

Valencia, who are still without an away win in the league this season, ended the match with 10 men as Adil Rami picked up his second booking of the night.
