Liverpool winger Luis Diaz speaks out on his future amid rumours that he could leave Anfield for Barcelona or the Saudi Pro League in the summer.

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has insisted that he is close to fulfilling one of his childhood dreams amidst speculation that he could leave Anfield in the summer transfer window.

The Reds are on the verge of winning the Premier League title following their 1-0 win against Leicester City on Sunday, with the team needing just one more victory to cement their place in first.

Despite the Merseysiders' imminent success, there have been question marks raised about a number of players in the squad, including Colombian Diaz.

The attacker has been frequently linked with moves to Barcelona and the Saudi Pro League, but in an interview with TNT Sports Mexico, he argued that he has been able to achieve many of his career goals with the Reds, saying: "That's what I want for my career, to always be remembered for my game, to leave my mark on Liverpool.

"We'll keep working this way so they feel comfortable and keep singing and cheering on the team, which is the most important thing. I have many memories from when I was a kid. Because I always dreamed of winning a title with Liverpool and especially the Premier League and it's close. So I am very happy, very content."

Other forwards such as Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota have all had their futures at the club come into question, and the upcoming summer could be one of significant upheaval in the forward line.

Is Diaz good enough?

Diaz started the 2024-25 season excellently, scoring five goals and producing one assist in his first six games, playing just 379 minutes in that time.

The 28-year-old has also performed excellently during the final weeks of the campaign, registering three assists and scoring two goals in his side's last six league matches.

However, it should be noted that the Colombian struggled in the final third for large periods, with the winger scoring just four goals while producing no assists between November 9 and February 23 despite featuring in 22 games.

Diaz has at times found it difficult to create scoring opportunities in the final third for either himself or teammates, and he has been guilty of giving the ball away too easily.

The winger has two years left on his current deal, and while he has contributed to the team's success this term, the Reds may decide to move him on before his value starts to decrease.
