Liverpool defender Ben Davies is reportedly on the verge of joining Sheffield United on loan.
The 26-year-old moved to Anfield from Preston North End in January during a period when the Reds were struggling with a number of injuries to centre-backs.
Davies did not make a single appearance for Jurgen Klopp's side last term, though, and has dropped further down the pecking order following the return to fitness of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
According to Sky Sports News, Sheffield United agreed a loan deal with Liverpool on Saturday morning, and the move is expected to be finalised in the early stages of next week.
The report claims that the Blades had been keen on a permanent deal for the defender, but Klopp's team indicated that they were only interested in loaning him out.
Davies, who has a contract at Anfield until June 2025, featured on 129 occasions in the second tier of English football during his time at Preston.
