Liverpool to move for free agent Michael Owen?

Liverpool to move for Owen?

Liverpool are reportedly considering a post-deadline day move for their former striker Michael Owen, who is without a club.

Owen, 32, is a free agent after being released by Manchester United at the end of last season.

Despite being able to sign after Friday's deadline, he needs to join a new club by 4pm on Tuesday if he is to play in Premier League matches before January.

Owen revealed on Friday that he is yet to come to an agreement with any club, tweeting: "Nothing to confirm just yet, will be an interesting few days now that the transfer window has closed."

According to ESPN, Liverpool could yet swoop for the former Real Madrid man after loaning out Andy Carroll to West Ham and failing to bring in any replacements up top.

The Reds were linked with both Clint Dempsey and Daniel Sturridge but failed to secure either's signature.
