Barcelona will reportedly make one last attempt to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool on Friday.

Barcelona will reportedly make one final attempt to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool before the Spanish transfer window closes on Friday night.

The La Liga giants have been relentless with their pursuit of the Brazilian this summer, despite the Reds' insistence that their prized asset is not for sale, and have had several bids knocked back, including a top offer of £114m.

The transfer window in England closed at 11pm on Thursday but the Spanish window remains open for a further 24 hours, allowing La Liga sides the opportunity to bring in players from English clubs.

According to Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona will propose a deal worth £138m on Friday and are convinced that they can persuade Liverpool to sell.

Jurgen Klopp's side did manage to complete the £35m capture of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on deadline day but failed in their pursuits of AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar and Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk and are unlikely to change their stance on Coutinho now that they are unable to strengthen.

Coutinho has yet to feature for Liverpool this season due to illness and an alleged back problem, but has been passed fit for international duty and is among the substitutes tonight for Brazil's World Cup qualifier with Ecuador.
