Team News: Loris Karius replaces Simon Mignolet for Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp picks Loris Karius ahead of Simon Mignolet for Liverpool's clash with Hull City.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has picked Loris Karius ahead of Simon Mignolet as they welcome Hull City to Anfield this afternoon.

Karius's impressive form in the 3-0 EFL Cup win at Derby County in midweek earns him a Premier League debut in one of three changes from the side that claimed a 2-1 win over Chelsea eight days ago.

Daniel Sturridge, who picked up a knock at Stamford Bridge, starts on the bench as Roberto Firmino starts up front with support from Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane.

The other alteration sees Ragnar Klavan come into the defence in place of Dejan Lovren, who misses the game due to a viral infection.

For the visiting Tigers, caretaker manager Mike Phelan makes two changes to the side that were pummelled 4-1 by Arsenal last time out.

The first comes between the sticks as David Marshall replaces Eldin Jakupovic for his first Premier League start of the season.

Ryan Mason also comes into the middle of the park following his impressive performance in the 2-1 EFL Cup win at Stoke City in midweek, with David Meyler the man to make way.

Liverpool: Karius; Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Milner; Henderson, Wijnaldum; Lallana, Coutinho, Mane; Firmino
Subs: Mignolet, Moreno, Lucas, Can, Grujic, Origi, Sturridge

Hull City: Marshall; El Mohamady, Livermore, Davies, Robertson; Clucas, Huddlestone, Mason; Snodgrass, Hernandez, Diomande
