Luis Suarez: 'It was amazing to play against my friend Steven Gerrard'

Luis Suarez says that it felt "amazing" to play against his "friend" and former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard in Barcelona's pre-season friendly with LA Galaxy.

Barcelona star Luis Suarez has admitted that it felt "amazing" to play against his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard during a pre-season friendly in California.

Gerrard's new club Los Angeles Galaxy took on the Spanish giants in an International Champions Cup match in Pasadena on Tuesday evening.

Suarez, who left Liverpool last year following a three-year spell at Anfield, scored in the 2-1 triumph at the Rose Bowl.

After the match, the Uruguayan mentioned his "friend" Gerrard in a tweet, which read: "Good game to start the pre-season. Now let's keep on working hard!! Amazing to play against you, my friend!"
