Raheem Sterling called up to England squad

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has been called up to the England squad for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Poland.

The 18-year-old replaces Tom Cleverley after the Manchester United midfielder was ruled out with a calf injury.

Sterling's one and only previous appearance for the England senior side came during a friendly defeat to Sweden in November 2012.

England took a big step towards World Cup qualification on Friday night with a 4-1 win over Montenegro in what was their penultimate match of the campaign.
